FOTD: Purple Haze

*waves*

Hey loves! So today's look features a beautiful purple from the plum loose eyeshadow ornament from the MAC Holiday collection. All of these are sooooo pretty and highly pigmented (and such a steal for the price!). This is a quick (like seriously FAST) look that's great for a pop of color during the holiday season...

Eyes => Carbon, plum pigment (MAC Holiday) and MSF in Dark as highlight. Engraved e/l in waterline. See. That simple. lol I later added Filament e/s as a highlight so that's an option if you prefer a little more holiday sparkle :)

Face => Peachykeen blush, Blunt for contour. I also later added Honor blush as a highlight, also for a little more shimmer!

Lips=> Fresh brew l/s, Instant gold l/g

I took out my weave to give my hair a break and I get more in love with natural hair every time! The biggest problem is that even with all the vids/resources available I still find that I truly have NO idea of what to do with it. But I guess that'll come in time when I spend more time out of weaves and figure out what works for me. I laughed so hard because a lady actually asked me which ponytail piece I had in my hair because it looked so "real" :) Well maam that's because it is! Lol all's well over here. I'm seriously slacking on Christmas shopping so I have to get around to it soooon! The only thing I reaaaaaally want is a train case or zuca for makeup and Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy and Gucci Guilty fragrances! (I'll probably treat myself) What's on your list this year?

xoxo.

14-Month Natural Hair Comparison/Update

Hey lovessss!

So, I've been MIA but for good reason! I've been sick for what felt like forever. This summer has been a terrible one for me health-wise and it made it extremely difficult for me to even enjoy most of it. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm trying to make the best out of the little time I have left before school begins again :) Sooooo, I'm finally blogging (yayyy!) and I'm doing a natural hair post this time. The last thing I believe I blogged about was the Choco-Indi Remi hair I had in which I took out after 2 months and will be doing a review on VERRRY soon! As I said before, BOTH my cell phone and regular cameras were broke, but I finally got my cell phone one to work well enough to snap a few photos for yall. I even tracked down a big chop photo that I've been promising to post since forever. (I know madness! lol) Well, here it goes...

So some of these are candid lol, but hey it's better than nothing... :)

Some of my puff progress. And drumroll please...

So yeah, it's crazy how fast time flew. One minute I'm bald and the next... haha! I never took myself for the big chop type of girl but all in all I love my natural hair and I wouldn't change a thing about deciding to end my sad love affair with relaxers. I look forward to the continuing growth and health of my hair. I don't have any specific goals, I just want a shitload of hair! Lol. Sorry it took so long for this post and I'll be getting some more up soon!

xoxo.

FOTD: Russian Red and Go!

So, I typically don't do wash and goes because I don't really care for them between certain lengths of hair, so I haven't done one since about August 2010 since I first BC'd. However, I was in a rush trying to make a final then an appointment after so I didn't want to look a total wreck so I decided it couldn't hurt to try. In the end I was EXTREMELY pleased with the way it turned out! Like really. It was about that time for me to shampoo so I shampoo'd using Herbal Essences Color Me Happy 2 in 1 (started using because I found it at my Rite-Aid for $1.12 YES and now I LOVE it) then I conditioned with Tresemme Naturals conditioner. I typically let my conditioner sit in for about 5 minutes or however long it takes to wash my face whichever is the longest. I shake shake shake then lightly towel dry. I used a oil/leave in mixture before using Cantu Shea Butter leave-in conditioning cream. I then put whatever headband I plan to use on (this day I wore a shoe lace, don't judge me) and use Eco styler gel to lay down my front and a toothbrush to brush it into a nice shape. I then took some gel (not a whole bunch) and put it on the tips of my hair. I then used the tips of my fingers to rake the product on my tips. Since I didn't want to walk around with wet hair I used my blow dryer on a cool setting to get it mostly dry before leaving out. Results:

I'm definitely more likely to wear wash and go's on a more regular basis now, especially since it's warmer and I loved the results. My hair did not feel crunchy at all and was extremely soft and defined. I felt like I could have stretched it for a few days but  later the next day I did another weave (post coming soon)

Face => MSF natural in Dark, Blunt for contour, La Femme blush in Red (higher on my cheekbones) and Sienna (on the apples)
Eyes => Black glitter liner (from my $1 store haul!),  Maybelline Falsies mascara
Lips => MAC lipliner in Brick, Russian Red lipstick, Clear lip gelee
*sidenote: All clothing and accessory items seen in pictures came from H&M.*

In case you need any particular reason to absolutely LURVE Russian Red like I do, #1 *drumrolls* Your teeth will never look WHITER! Everyone knows about the blue based trick! It's real! lol I tend not to wear anything on my eyes when wearing a bright lip but like I said before, you can never go wrong with a glitter liner! Overall, it was a lovely day and I received several compliments on both my hair & lipstick. What is a staple product for your wash n gos?

xoxo.
