FOTD: Purple Haze

*waves*

Hey loves! So today's look features a beautiful purple from the plum loose eyeshadow ornament from the MAC Holiday collection. All of these are sooooo pretty and highly pigmented (and such a steal for the price!). This is a quick (like seriously FAST) look that's great for a pop of color during the holiday season...

Eyes => Carbon, plum pigment (MAC Holiday) and MSF in Dark as highlight. Engraved e/l in waterline. See. That simple. lol I later added Filament e/s as a highlight so that's an option if you prefer a little more holiday sparkle :)

Face => Peachykeen blush, Blunt for contour. I also later added Honor blush as a highlight, also for a little more shimmer!

Lips=> Fresh brew l/s, Instant gold l/g

I took out my weave to give my hair a break and I get more in love with natural hair every time! The biggest problem is that even with all the vids/resources available I still find that I truly have NO idea of what to do with it. But I guess that'll come in time when I spend more time out of weaves and figure out what works for me. I laughed so hard because a lady actually asked me which ponytail piece I had in my hair because it looked so "real" :) Well maam that's because it is! Lol all's well over here. I'm seriously slacking on Christmas shopping so I have to get around to it soooon! The only thing I reaaaaaally want is a train case or zuca for makeup and Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy and Gucci Guilty fragrances! (I'll probably treat myself) What's on your list this year?

FOTD: Color Smash

*waves*

Helloooooo! While I understand I've been extremely neglectful I've been extremely busy. Life's real hectic trying to finish the school year strong and work! The crazy thing is that I have so much stuff to post but haven't had a chance. Forgive me! So since I feel terrible I wanted to stop by and post a look. This look is just a bunch of colors thrown together and then accented with a bright lip! Here it is...

Also, I never posted which company I was so excited to be working for (although I've made it obvious in the above photo) ....so if you guessed...

You're 100% correct! And I loveeeee it! Yesterday was World Aids Day so if you get a chance support (and add to your makeup collection) by purchasing a Viva Glam lipstick/lipglass! My mom surprised me with the Viva Glam bear collectible ornament and its too cute!

FOTD: Monday Night Football

*waves*

So, if you know I am a crazed die-hard Eagles fan. This week I was lucky enough to be in attendance at Monday night's football game. So if you saw it, you know we lost. *tears* But I had a blast at the game and of course yall know my makeup had to be celebratory!!! Here's the look...

For this look I used the same green from the first Eagles look from my 120 palette, and Hocus Pocus e/s from MAC. This picture doesn't really show it, but I used 3 glitta liners on this eye. A forest green one on my upper lashline, silver on my lower eyeline (towards the front) and a apple green one towards the end of the lower lashline. This gave it an amazing dimensional glitta thang in person! The eyes could've been neater but I overslept and was in a rush to get dressed. I used Brave New Bronze l/s, Cork l/l and Instant Gold l/g on my lips, and La Femme Blush in Redwood.

Soooooo even though my boys lost I know we'll be back! And can yall see how OBSESSED I am with these glitter liners?!!! No such thing as too much glitter! (Unless its "Kesha style") LOL. Also, I got a chance to see Puss in Boots 3D and I lovedddddddd it!!! :) In case you noticed I am also wearing new hair. It's some Virgin Brazilian natural wavy that I ordered from a Chinese vendor. I'll do a post on it once I wear it for a while but right now its loveee! How was your weekend?

Face => MAC Studio tech foundation, Dark MSF, La Femme Red Blush
Lips => MAC Vino l/l, Russian Red l/s

FOTD: Game Face

So the only reason I like fall/winter is back.... yes football has came back into my life and I could not be happier.  I'll generally watch any games that are on but I only go hard for the big boys E-A-G-L-E-S!!! When I'm not wearing any Eagles related paraphernalia during games you can almost bet I'll have some green painted on my face! Yesterday I decided to do a Eagles inspired cut-crease in honor of my boys 1st regular season game. The Eagles green is actually more of a teal-ish blue green so I grabbed some colors from my 120 palette (AGAIN! lol) The look..

Face => MAC Studio Tech foundation in NW45,  Brow pencil in Stud, Studio Sculpt  concealer in NW45, MSF Natural in Dark, La Femme blush in Sienna, Blunt blush for contour
Lips => MAC Fresh Brew l/s, Instant Gold l/g
Eyes => Used the 120 palette (follow the hearts :) Dolla holla store silver glitta liner on top lashline, white kohl on waterline, Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara

In case anyone's wondering the birds won 31-13. A win means a great start to the week. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

FOTD: Nature Feels

So I've been OBSESSED with the man, Frank Ocean these last coupla months. Unless you've been living under a rock I hope you've already downloaded this goodness. Anywho, I had "Nature Feels" on repeat when I was getting dressed and I was inspired. I swear I wasn't drinking. The look...

\

Face => MAC Studio Tech foundation in NW45,  Brow pencil in Stud, Studio Sculpt  concealer in NW45, MSF Natural in Dark, La Femme blush in Bordeaux, Blunt blush for contour
Lips => MAC Russian Red. I don't usually but today I outlined with concealer for a sharper line around my bottom lip.
Eyes => Used the 120 palette (follow the hearts :) Dolla holla store green glitta liner on inner corners, MAC blacktrack on waterline, Maybelline XXL mascara

Yall know I faithfully wear my MAC #2's or 3's but for this look I wore another pair of my favorite lashes: Kiss ENVY human hair lashes in "Juicy Volume 03" (KPE14). They're VERY dramatic and are winged galore!

The track that started it all...

Annnnnnd a bonus mini webcam photo shoot :)

Today was a good day. I found my "lost" eyebrow pencil and I got some great deals while out shopping. Inspiration is a great thing. I guess the randomness of this look is pretty good because Halloween is coming and this is an EXCELLENT look if you plan on dressing like "Eve" (as in Adam and not the rapper lol) or maybe a vamped up "Poison Ivy". If you haven't heard Frank Ocean check him out ASAP!

Runaway Lips!

I told yall about how I bought MAC's Runaway Red in my haul post and here it is in full action. I definitely noticed that what may tone this lippie down is that it has such strong fuschia base. I applied by outlining with a lip brush and before filling in with the lipstick it definitely looked like I was wearing a pink. Anywho's its a satin finish (one of my least favorite finishes) but in my opinion it applies better and with a way more moisturized feel than the typical satins.

As I said before, its not an all in yo face type red which makes it everyday wearable. It may still be too bright for some but I'm used to bold lips so this was like elementary for me lol

I believe this lippie wore for roughly 4 hours. It has a natural shine to it, but I topped it with Revealing l/g for a glossier finish. I like it. Very wearable for a range of skin tones. What's your favorite red lip?

Make It Rain FOTD!

After the hurricane passed and it finally seemed safe to leave out I was inspired to wear some blues. Mostly the sky was angry gray tho :( For this look I used my neutral Inglot palette and Wet n Wild's Greed palette (love!) It was so weird having hurricane warnings around here as I'm really not used to it and luckily it did not hit as hard as expected and all the people I know in and around the area were safe. Now, onto the makeup...

It took great restraint for me not to put on lashes with this look but I found my favorite mascara and was pleasantly pleased :)

Face => MAC Studio Tech foundation in NW45,  Brow pencil in Stud, Studio Sculpt and Studio Finish concealers in NW45, Golden Lariat MSF (LE) : Brown part to set foundation and shimmery for highlight, La Femme blush in Sienna, Blunt blush for contour
Eyes => Inglot #348 with the shimmer gray from greed palette on top, Inglot #372 above crease and inner corner on lower lash line, Inglot #428 in crease and outer lower lashline, highlight is neutral color from greed palette, white kohl on waterline,  Pulse Perfection mascara
Lips => Cork l/l, Gaga 2 lipstick, Instant gold lustreglass

Every time I do a fotd is irks me that I don't have a better camera to take these photos!! It makes it hard for me to update because I hate taking camera phone photos! Grrrr. That is highly up on my to do list. Do you loves have any (affordable) cameras that you recommend for a beauty blogger? Oh, and I got a chance to try out my 226 brush and its love! I know its different from the original but it works so great for blending and placing color in my tiny lil ol eye space. Anywhos, I hope everyone is safe and sound and those of yall with that good good weather had a great weekend! School starts tomorrow and I can't believe summer is over! Wow! :( Lol

"Go Girl, It's ya Birrrrrrrfday" FOTD!

Hellooooo!

So I although I am finally getting around to posting this during Virgo season I need to make it highly known that I reps for Team Leo!!! The best of the zodiac! RAWWWWR! Lol! I had a low key birthday this year, I went out to dinner with a few friends and had cake and drinks later at my place. The only thing that was so bummy was all the damn rain, which irked me because black people act like they MELT in rain and will not move for noooobody! lol All in all I had a good time and I'm hoping this new year brings new opportunities and interesting happenings into my life! Now onto the photos...

Anddddd, why yes, I have new hurrrr!

Unfortunately, my camera is still crappy so it didn't catch the true purple of this lip but this is the best photo that's close to color! It was purple purple, not burgundy :)

Face => Studio Tech foundation in NW47 (New item, review soon!) La femme blush in Sienna and grape (mixed), MAC Fix+
Brows => Couldn't find my brow pencil in stud so my brows are slightly darker than usual because I had to use some old black brow pencil I had lyin round :/
Eyes => (Eyeshadows are all from Inglot palette) Green on lid, brown in crease with orange right above and light tan for highlight, MAC Blacktrack fluidline. The tiny shiny particles are MAC's Reflect Gold glitter which I patted over the outer corner (Yall know I HAD to have my glitta!!!) andddd My dolla holla green glitta liner is whats on my lower lashline, MAC #3 Lashes
Lips => MAC Nightmoth l/l, All of My Purple Life lipglass (LE)

I was so in love with my dress that I wore to dinner and I wish I had pics but I don't! As I am a shoewhore I do, however, have a photo of the shoes I wore with my dress.

They are the Jessica Simpson Dany's (which are also a true purple purple) and are probably in my top 5 of favorite shoes! I always feel so 70's in them and they're COMFORTABLE! Nothing much of else going on with me besides that! Hope everyone had a great week!

Sassy Neutrals: Interview Mode

So I tried posting this yesterday but it seems blogger was down. I had an interview the other day and a lil bulb went off like hey, why don't you do a quick post on it. So here ya go! :)

Eyes => Inglot matte brown, WnW black h2o liquid liner, Stiletto lash mascara
Face => Revlon Photoready in Cappuccino, MSF Natural in Dark, La femme blush in Sienna
Lips => Lined lightly with MAC liner in Spice, MAC Bright and Perky lipglass (Tartan Tale LE)

My Top 5 Interview Do's:

1. Set out clothing down to the shoes the night before! Also double check to make sure your alarm is set and set extra ones. This ensures you won't be late (BIG no no!)
2. Review whatever company/business you're interviewing for. I try to review general company information as well as what's generally going on in the industry. Prepare yourself and research questions you could expect and jot down reminders in the small notebook you'll carry.
3. GROOM! Appearance is everything nowadays! Do the eyebrows, have well maintained hair, clean manicured nails. For certain positions, make sure there's no visible piercing/tattoos. Ugh, people really pay attention to little shit like this...
4. Print out extra resume copies and make sure you have your purse packed. Typically my interview purse consists of a folder with my resume, phone, gum (remember to throw out before), company's contact info, small notebook, directions, pocket mirror, makeup, keys, wallet, cash, PEN, and I.D.
5. Stay positive! Always keep a smile in the face of adversity. Never look or feel defeated. I always feel if I'm not hired for a certain position, it wasn't meant to be. I'm a firm believer in energy balance and as long as you rebuke negativity, positivity and opportunity WILL always find a way to you :)

Yall know I find neutral looks boring, but unless you're interviewing for a "makeup friendly" job I think it's necessary as one wouldn't like to "turn" anyone with brash bright colors! As far as my hair I usually comb it out for a big hair look but for this particular interview I kept it "tame" and used curling lotion and holding spray to define the curls back down to a "normal" volume. Lol, also as you can see I take out my facial piercings as well as not to "offend" anyone (nose ring fully removed, backings off only on surface piercing) and I typically wear a watch on my wrist to cover up my tattoo. As you can see from my immense use of quotations, I am not a fan a hardcore fan of certain changes I make to myself in order to work because I feel that it is a misrepresentation of who I am. I always feel muted because I am that bold eye bright lips, in yo face accessories, high heeled type chick but most places don't find these things acceptable. But hey *sigh* the things we do for money...  Lol, have any of you ever felt like jobs hindered your swag?

Bright Liner, Bold Lips

Hey loves :) So I'm here with a quick FOTD. Since I'm so damn lazy typically my photos are a few days behind so this look was actually worn on Sunday. I had recently went to Rite-Aid and picked up two of the lip perfection lipsticks, in Divine and Embrace. The funny thing is that I almost brought Up the Amp on my trip to MAC the day before and I'm glad I didn't. Divine is definitely an amazing dupe (it's brighter but I wore a dark liner). All in all I'm extremely impressed with these covergirl lippies. Although I'm not a big fan of Embrace color on me they are long wearing and long lasting. Like scrub scrub scrub to get off your lips lasting! I do plan on going back and getting some more. But anywhos...

Face => Still trying out foundations, I'm wearing Black opal in ? color here. MAC MSF in Dark, Blunt for contour, La Femme Blush in Purple Passion
Eyes => Only MAC Black Tied in crease, Wet n Wild liquid liner in 862 (blue), black kohl on waterline, Stiletto lash mascara
Lips => Jordana lip pencil in Deep purple, Covergirl lip perfection in Divine, MAC Superglass in Fab Frenzy

YAY! I finally got around to taking some pics in daylight *pumps fist* It definitely makes a major difference as far as color!  Have any of you tried the Covergirl lippies? Any recs? Oh, also here's me and my mom. She loved her gift. I bought her a Vera Bradley watch :) I hope that everyone had a great weekend and a late Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!

xoxo.
