FOTD: Monday Night Football

*waves*

So, if you know I am a crazed die-hard Eagles fan. This week I was lucky enough to be in attendance at Monday night's football game. So if you saw it, you know we lost. *tears* But I had a blast at the game and of course yall know my makeup had to be celebratory!!! Here's the look...

For this look I used the same green from the first Eagles look from my 120 palette, and Hocus Pocus e/s from MAC. This picture doesn't really show it, but I used 3 glitta liners on this eye. A forest green one on my upper lashline, silver on my lower eyeline (towards the front) and a apple green one towards the end of the lower lashline. This gave it an amazing dimensional glitta thang in person! The eyes could've been neater but I overslept and was in a rush to get dressed. I used Brave New Bronze l/s, Cork l/l and Instant Gold l/g on my lips, and La Femme Blush in Redwood.

Soooooo even though my boys lost I know we'll be back! And can yall see how OBSESSED I am with these glitter liners?!!! No such thing as too much glitter! (Unless its "Kesha style") LOL. Also, I got a chance to see Puss in Boots 3D and I lovedddddddd it!!! :) In case you noticed I am also wearing new hair. It's some Virgin Brazilian natural wavy that I ordered from a Chinese vendor. I'll do a post on it once I wear it for a while but right now its loveee! How was your weekend?

Happy Halloween!! Costume + FOTD

I go out to costume party every year. It's always really a bunch of fun and a really chill time. This year I was a pirate! I hadn't been out in a while so it was nice to hang with the girls and let a little loose. The makeup...

Eyes => MAC Blacktrack fluidline, Carbon Eyeshadow, Inglot #366 matte, Inglot #350 matte, MAC 3D gold glitter, Duo lash to adhere
Face => MAC Studio tech foundation, Dark MSF, La Femme Red Blush
Lips => MAC Vino l/l, Russian Red l/s

S/N: How awesome is the bling eye patch!!! Lol I had to have it!

I loveeeee halloween! We saw some of the funniest/cutest costumes while out! Did you loves get dressed/plan to dress up for halloween?

Lipstick Lovin' :: MAC Russian Red

Salutations.

Yall know I love a bold red lip, and for me it doesn't get much better than Russian Red for that category.

THE GOOD: Easy to apply, I've heard that other reds like Ruby Woo apply like crayons but this isn't the case here. A pro for me is that it's matte, as I'm not of fan of lustre looking red lipsticks. This doesn't feather and doesn't absolutely need a lipliner. The staying power on this is AH-MAY-ZING! I'm almost sure I wore it several times for 6+ hours without reapplying
or significant fading. And most important. It makes your teeth look WHITEEEEE. Like I mean, mine aren't yellow or anything but anyone should be able to appreciate an instant teeth brightener in a small tube, yes? :)

THE QUESTIONABLE: It's a matte. For some people that's a con because it's drying. But almost all mattes are drying, ok? Ok.

*Warning: Red lips may incite laughter, spontaneous webcam photoshoots and temporary (or permanent) Iamtheshitness syndrome*

Rates? *drumrolls*

My favorite bright red! What's yours?

Love the Lash: MAC #3

Hey loves,

So yet another one of my sudden disappearances is contributed to a hospital stay :( But now that I'm home and chained to the bed for a week or so the only thing on my agenda is to catch up with school work so I thought I'd do a post. If you've been following me for a while you'd know that my favoriteeeeee lashes ever are MAC #2 but I'd had an extreme issue finding them at local stores and counters so I decided to try #3. They look very similar to #2 except they're shorter and more natural looking (as natural as fake lashes go lol). I'm still loyal to my #2's, but mainly because as long as these are, I prefer longer!  I thought I'd post because these are a solid replacement and may better equip those don't like the "drag queen lash". I've been using a different adhesive for a while so I'll also post on that later this week. Here's the lash...

Very pretty! I love that false lashes provide fullness and shape to any look and besides my eyebrow pencils and lipsticks would have to be my favorite item! Lashes aren't necessarily essentials but are pretty darn nice to have! Tell me your favorite lash in the comments if you have one! Hope you've all been well and stay tuned for some more posts this week!

Lipstick Lovin' :: MAC Ravishing

Heyyyy!

Maybe a few months ago I mentioned that I bought (or wanted to get) MAC's Ravishing lipstick. I did end up getting it and I love it! It's a cremesheen formula so it goes on pretty nicely (although not as great as my other CS) but any flaws in the lipstick can be concealed by placing a gloss on top.

This lippie does have strong coral undertones but I'm wearing it here with MAC's Fulfilled plushglass which pushes it slightly pinkish :)

I think this is a great coral-y pink that can be worn with a wide range of looks. It wears on an average of 3-4 hours for me. Pros to this lipstick is that it is easily buildable for a lighter or more vibrant flush of color AND I can wear this shade without a lipliner (or gloss!). The only con for me is that I do find it extremely drying and exfoliated lips are a MUST for this! I would have to compare the color to a toned down Vegas Volt (One of my favvvvs). Rating? *drumrolls*

What do you think? Have any of you cupcakes tried this shade?

FOTD: Nature Feels

So I've been OBSESSED with the man, Frank Ocean these last coupla months. Unless you've been living under a rock I hope you've already downloaded this goodness. Anywho, I had "Nature Feels" on repeat when I was getting dressed and I was inspired. I swear I wasn't drinking. The look...

\

Face => MAC Studio Tech foundation in NW45,  Brow pencil in Stud, Studio Sculpt  concealer in NW45, MSF Natural in Dark, La Femme blush in Bordeaux, Blunt blush for contour
Lips => MAC Russian Red. I don't usually but today I outlined with concealer for a sharper line around my bottom lip.
Eyes => Used the 120 palette (follow the hearts :) Dolla holla store green glitta liner on inner corners, MAC blacktrack on waterline, Maybelline XXL mascara

Yall know I faithfully wear my MAC #2's or 3's but for this look I wore another pair of my favorite lashes: Kiss ENVY human hair lashes in "Juicy Volume 03" (KPE14). They're VERY dramatic and are winged galore!

The track that started it all...

Annnnnnd a bonus mini webcam photo shoot :)

Today was a good day. I found my "lost" eyebrow pencil and I got some great deals while out shopping. Inspiration is a great thing. I guess the randomness of this look is pretty good because Halloween is coming and this is an EXCELLENT look if you plan on dressing like "Eve" (as in Adam and not the rapper lol) or maybe a vamped up "Poison Ivy". If you haven't heard Frank Ocean check him out ASAP!

Runaway Lips!

I told yall about how I bought MAC's Runaway Red in my haul post and here it is in full action. I definitely noticed that what may tone this lippie down is that it has such strong fuschia base. I applied by outlining with a lip brush and before filling in with the lipstick it definitely looked like I was wearing a pink. Anywho's its a satin finish (one of my least favorite finishes) but in my opinion it applies better and with a way more moisturized feel than the typical satins.

As I said before, its not an all in yo face type red which makes it everyday wearable. It may still be too bright for some but I'm used to bold lips so this was like elementary for me lol

I believe this lippie wore for roughly 4 hours. It has a natural shine to it, but I topped it with Revealing l/g for a glossier finish. I like it. Very wearable for a range of skin tones. What's your favorite red lip?

Make It Rain FOTD!

After the hurricane passed and it finally seemed safe to leave out I was inspired to wear some blues. Mostly the sky was angry gray tho :( For this look I used my neutral Inglot palette and Wet n Wild's Greed palette (love!) It was so weird having hurricane warnings around here as I'm really not used to it and luckily it did not hit as hard as expected and all the people I know in and around the area were safe. Now, onto the makeup...

It took great restraint for me not to put on lashes with this look but I found my favorite mascara and was pleasantly pleased :)

Face => MAC Studio Tech foundation in NW45,  Brow pencil in Stud, Studio Sculpt and Studio Finish concealers in NW45, Golden Lariat MSF (LE) : Brown part to set foundation and shimmery for highlight, La Femme blush in Sienna, Blunt blush for contour
Eyes => Inglot #348 with the shimmer gray from greed palette on top, Inglot #372 above crease and inner corner on lower lash line, Inglot #428 in crease and outer lower lashline, highlight is neutral color from greed palette, white kohl on waterline,  Pulse Perfection mascara
Lips => Cork l/l, Gaga 2 lipstick, Instant gold lustreglass

Every time I do a fotd is irks me that I don't have a better camera to take these photos!! It makes it hard for me to update because I hate taking camera phone photos! Grrrr. That is highly up on my to do list. Do you loves have any (affordable) cameras that you recommend for a beauty blogger? Oh, and I got a chance to try out my 226 brush and its love! I know its different from the original but it works so great for blending and placing color in my tiny lil ol eye space. Anywhos, I hope everyone is safe and sound and those of yall with that good good weather had a great weekend! School starts tomorrow and I can't believe summer is over! Wow! :( Lol

Small MAC Haulage & MAC Me Over Impressions

*Waves*

So I went downtown yesterday to hit the MAC store and I ended up grabbing a few things. I mean, all I went in there for was this holy grail smack ya momma 226 brush and I came out with a lot more. Here's what I got and keep reading for my initial impressions...

What did I grab?

Studio Tech foundation in NW45 => Now, I mentioned that I switched up foundations in my last post but I recently returned that studio tech (which was a nw47) for nw45 because I felt like it was just slightly too dark. One of those things that nobody notices but you and you don't feel right until you fix it! Lol, this color matches perfect so hopefully its a keeper!

Studio Sculpt concealer in NW45 => I had previously been using MAC's Studio finish concealer (also in nw45) which I ended up disliking after a while but I forced myself to use because I'm cheap. I finally hit pan and I thought it was about time I stopped torturing myself so I picked this one up. Although its the same color the sculpt is lighter than the finish and does not give off that yellow-y cast that I felt the finish did for my skin. I had the MA apply it in store and it looked lovely!

Instant Gold Lustreglass => If I pick up any MAC shades, I typically will only buy very pigmented original shades that I feel can't be/I wouldn't want to try to dupe but when it comes to gloss I focus on ones that can be worn over multiple colors. And I think I have found my HG. No swatches could do this lustreglass any justice I mean it gives you so much shine on its own and is also extremely flattering for nudes and other colors from a layering standpoint. Plus it has gold specks, my fave!

Eyebrow pencil in Stud => This is one of my must have things as I generally hate to leave the house without my eyebrows being done. I used to use Spiked but Stud is slightly darker and I feel that it allows my brows to look more defined with less strokes. They're kinda pricey but I recommend these pencils to anyone because they're long-lasting in terms of application and usage. I mentioned that I bought one maybe a month ago but that one went "missing" a few days ago so I had to get a new one, that's how much of a must have it is for me!

Runaway Red lipstick => I told myself I would NOT dare try on another red due to the large number I have in my collection now but I couldn't resist. I tried it on and it just looks PERFECT. Really. The main thing that attracted me to this color was that although its red, its very low key compared to my other reds which are really bold. This is a nice Toni Childs (for all my Girlfriend watchers out there) red and is perfect for a bold fall lip that looks effortless without trying.

226 Brush => Okay, so I fell into the hype. I mean, any person with a small eyelid space such as mine could see the benefit of having a mini 224. After buying, I saw that a lot of people were complaining about how this re-release is not as tapered as the original ones. I went through all the ones in my store and NONE of them were tapered, they all looked like the pic below which is cool with me. I'm pretty sure with the long term use of a brush guard one could get more of a "pointy" shape out of this brush.

Overall, I was slightly disappointed with the MAC Me over collection. There's so much chaos behind the brush not looking like the original that I even contemplated returning it, but I realized that for me it still serves its purpose of being a small blending brush. Out of the lipsticks that I swatched, Runaway Red was the only one that I felt like was a must-have because I think it'll look great on almost any skin tone and will satisfy both who love bright as well as muted colors. Also when I swatched Smoked Purple looked extremely similar to Cyber and Peachstock to Lady Gaga 2... I found the lipglasses to be even more stickier than usual and the only one I was interested in purchasing (Social light) when put on my lips really didn't look like much at all. The eyeshadows I really liked but didn't purchase any (no particular reason why) with my favorite being 'Outre'. Did you guys pick anything up from the collection? What are your thoughts?

"Go Girl, It's ya Birrrrrrrfday" FOTD!

Hellooooo!

So I although I am finally getting around to posting this during Virgo season I need to make it highly known that I reps for Team Leo!!! The best of the zodiac! RAWWWWR! Lol! I had a low key birthday this year, I went out to dinner with a few friends and had cake and drinks later at my place. The only thing that was so bummy was all the damn rain, which irked me because black people act like they MELT in rain and will not move for noooobody! lol All in all I had a good time and I'm hoping this new year brings new opportunities and interesting happenings into my life! Now onto the photos...

Anddddd, why yes, I have new hurrrr!

Unfortunately, my camera is still crappy so it didn't catch the true purple of this lip but this is the best photo that's close to color! It was purple purple, not burgundy :)

Face => Studio Tech foundation in NW47 (New item, review soon!) La femme blush in Sienna and grape (mixed), MAC Fix+
Brows => Couldn't find my brow pencil in stud so my brows are slightly darker than usual because I had to use some old black brow pencil I had lyin round :/
Eyes => (Eyeshadows are all from Inglot palette) Green on lid, brown in crease with orange right above and light tan for highlight, MAC Blacktrack fluidline. The tiny shiny particles are MAC's Reflect Gold glitter which I patted over the outer corner (Yall know I HAD to have my glitta!!!) andddd My dolla holla green glitta liner is whats on my lower lashline, MAC #3 Lashes
Lips => MAC Nightmoth l/l, All of My Purple Life lipglass (LE)

I was so in love with my dress that I wore to dinner and I wish I had pics but I don't! As I am a shoewhore I do, however, have a photo of the shoes I wore with my dress.

They are the Jessica Simpson Dany's (which are also a true purple purple) and are probably in my top 5 of favorite shoes! I always feel so 70's in them and they're COMFORTABLE! Nothing much of else going on with me besides that! Hope everyone had a great week!

FOTD: Fast and Smokey

Hey loves!!! So I've been super busy still always feeling like I'm neglecting the blog but my camera wont charge anymore and my phone camera acts bipolar so that adds to the trouble. As I said in one of my previous posts, I had bought a few items from the MAC Blogger collection. Today's look includes Hocus Pocus, which is a shade that I don't find extremely original, but I actually quite love. It helps me achieve an everyday smokiness to any eye that is not overpowering and easily compliments other colors.

Face => Revlon Photoready Foundation in Cappuccino , MAC Blunt blush
Eyes => NYX Jumbo pencil in Black bean, Hocus Pocus eyeshadow (LE), Gold reflects glitter, Maybelline Falsies mascara
Lips => Cork l/l, Brave New Bronze l/s (LE), Ample Pink Pushglass

The glitter you may see above is not a part of the eyeshadow, I dabbed a bit of MAC's reflect gold to give it a little spunk :)

I really like this look because it was QUICK to do! Like really one eyeshadow for a complete look lol I can see myself wearing this on the go during the school year for early morning classes or something. I do feel it may fall a little flat without me adding the glitter...It's currently sold out but if you were able to grab one of these let me know how you like it! I was on my way to the mall in this look. I've been shopping a lot so maybe I'll do some quickie hauls for goodies I've found :) Hope you loves have been well!

FOTD with Jealously Wakes + New Hair

Hey loves! So I'm back with a new post. It's not my year natural because I've still been too lazy to compile the photos (soon! Lol) I heard that JW eyeshadow will be restocked soon so I wanted to put up a look to help people see he true color and whether its worth them tryna catch or not. As I stated before, I was disappointed in the color because I wanted it to be some beautiful green but it swatched heavily blue on me. I gave up trying to make it green and just went blue. See...

After wearing it, I must say that although it is still blue I quite enjoy the texture and shade. Would I still have bought it? Eh, probably not but only because I have a million blue shadows. This one is still quite original and at times look greeny and overall reminds me if a mermaid :) All in all I'd say if you're into blues pick this one up because its truly a gorgeous shade!

Face => Usual face routine, La Femme Blush in Terracotta
Eyes => MAC Jealousy Wakes Eyeshadow (LE Blogger's Obsession collection), Ingot Black and Brown, WnW H20 liquid eyeline in black, NYX jumbo pencil in Black Bean
Lips => MAC l/l in Chestnut , Honeylove lipstick and Stealing Kisses lipglass (LE Tartan Tale collection)

As for the hair, I did a sew-in using ChocoIndi  Remy hair in 18 and 14 inch packs. I love the packaging of most remy hair, it's always so chic and cute (as it should be for the price! lol)

The hair is 100% virgin Indian hair and is also wet & wavy. I installed about a week ago and I wanted to show you guys but I'll keep off on commenting on the quality of the hair until I've worn it maybe another 2 weeks or so, so stay tuned for that post. I'm currently wearing it bone straight but I threw in some loose curls today to shake it up. Here's the hair...

In my previous sew-ins I typically use Bobbi Boss Indi Remi which I adore, but I'm always open to new brands. The 18 inch was $150/pack and the 14 was $130 (I think? Somewhere around there..) But there still are various places that give deals if you can find them. Definitely more posts to come on this hair and I'll answer any questions if you have them! In other news, I just got acrylic nails put on and my nails are soreeeee! I typically put a hot rag to ease some of the tenderness. Does this happen to anyone else who gets fake nails?

Jealousy Wakes Swatches: MAC Blogger Collection

Long time no speak ;) I've been well, just tryna get my life together and will myself to post more often. As most of you know MAC came out with a Blogger's Collection that consists of 5 lipglasses and 4 eyeshadows from various bloggers that were chosen out of many. Well today, one part of my shipment arrived and it was Christine's (Temptalia) Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow. I was extremely excited as this was the 2nd most wanted thing on my list from the collection, my first being All of My Purple Life lipglass, and I also ordered Hocus Pocus in a seperate shipment that should arrive soon as well. This eyeshadow quickly sold out from off the website (Surprise surprise! lol) but it may be available again at some point over the course of the 6 weeks the collection is available so I wanted to give swatches!

Jealousy Wakes is extremely pigmented and a beautiful color, however (yeaaaaa yall knew this was coming) I am extremely disappointed with the actual color. I was expecting some fantastic looking green similar to the pot, but once swatched/worn it comes off more blue than anything. I mean its called jealousy wakes dammit I feel like such a bomb title deserves an amazing OBVIOUS green not a blue that kinda looks green every now and then. WHOMP WHOMP. Here are the swatches...

With that being said I still look forward to doing an actual full application with this color to see if it makes me a believer. I personally really enjoyed and appreciated the immense amount of background theory and effort that the bloggers put into developing their own product and I hope I am more pleased when my other purchases arrive so look out for updates :) Did you loves get anything from this collection? Do you think I'm absolutely crazy and love this shade of blue maybe green? LMK! lol

Candy Yum Yum, Revisited

And this time I love it! I was determined to feel the hype that everyone else felt when wearing it, and after this time I did. I paired it with magenta liner and a smokey eye and I was set to go. This lippie definitely deserves a warning sign because it is neon pink and as far as I know there aren't any other ones exactly like it. It's definitely an attention grabber as people could not seem to be ALLLL up in ma face when I was wearing it! Lol. Anywhos...

And since my phone seems to capture color better...yup. it's THAT bright. :)

What products have you written off and then loved upon second examination?

xoxo.
